Nettie Mae McSwine was born to the late Roosevelt and Virginia Anderson on September 8, 1932, in Grenada Mississippi where she attended school, and accepted Christ at a young age. She was a member of Broadview Baptist Church under Rev. Marvin Parker.
Nettie married Clifton McSwine II, and to this union one Son was born, Clifton McSwine III.
Later in her life, she met her loving Partner of over 50 years, Lee Travis, who preceded her in death. To this union, Nettie was blessed with four children, Henry Travis, Corrine Travis, Mary Travis, and Joseph Travis, as well as four Stepchildren. Eddie McSwine, who preceded her in death, Dorothy McSwine, Climmie McSwine and Ben McSwine. Nettie also had one brother: VG Anderson and two sisters: Shirley Walthour and Nancy Harvey, all preceded her in death.
Nettie loved talking to people, anyone she met, no one was a stranger. She was a woman who had a social life that was so active, it would put any young person to shame. She loved sweeping her yard, and you could always see her out front with a broom in her hand.
Nettie touched so many people’s lives around her. She enjoyed riding in the car with her children, grand-children, friends, and family members. She was their NUMBER ONE FAN. She was definitely a force to be reckoned with, and everyone around her knew that.
Nettie departed her life on December 22, 2021 at Loyola Medical Center, she leaves to forever cherish her memory: Her Children, Clifton III (Doris) McSwine of Elmhurst, Il., Ben McSwine of Cicero, Il., Dorothy McSwine of Hillside, Il., Climmie McSwine of Bellwood, Il., Lee Henry Travis of Bellwood, Il., Corrine Travis of Maywood, Il., Mary (James) Travis-Gardner of Joliet, Il., and Joseph (Valerie) Travis of Lombard, Il. Brothers: Eleazer Anderson of LaGrange Il., RB Anderson of Maywood, IL., George (Bernice) Anderson of Maywood, Il. Cliff & Doris, Our Deepest Condolences
Life is the great gift that God has given us, Death is only a bridge towards eternal life with God.
Certainly Heaven is rejoicing for another Soul has finally reached her true home.
Our prayers and thoughts are with your family at this most difficult time.
Sincerely, Ly-Dana & Cliff Hill
