James Ray Pickett was born on September 8, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Acie and Rose Pickett who precedes him in death. James Ray was the second of four children. James Ray accepted Christ at an early age.
James Ray attended Hefferan Elementary School and graduated from West Garfield Elementary School. James completed his high school education at Austin High school. After high school he pursued many different on endeavors and embarked on whatever journey life took him.
James Ray enjoyed listening to music and always being right. Everyone that came in contact with James Ray loved him because he just had a lovable spirit. James Ray was a math whiz; when it came to number he was your guy.
During his earlier years, James Ray fathered a son Marteiz Pickett.
Eventually, James Ray met and married the love of his life Minnie Pickett who also precedes him in death.
He will forever live in the hearts of those left to cherish his memories: a son Martiez; 2 grandchildren Marteiz & Devionne; one great grandchild Zamari; two brothers: Walter (Mona) and Darryl (Shirley); one sister Alice “Frances” (Curtis) a special friend Constance, and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
