Illya Shemel Haywood was born in Chicago IL on  July 19, 1968  to the parents of James and Barbara Haywood. he was known by many as “Wood” he was the an outstanding person, who loved people and was all about family & Friends. Wood was the oldest of his Sibling. He attended Bryant Elementary school and then onto Michelle Clark & Austin High School. Illy Shemel Haywood had a love for Football & Basketball. 

He enjoyed smoking Cigars, wearing sunglasses, wearing his watches . He was always the life of the party where ever he went. He had one brother (Quintin ‘Que” Haywood) that was his best friend and when you seen one you seen the other one. They were inseparable. He later in life in 1992 became a father of one son with Sharonda, his name name Ahmad. Then in 1999 had another son  by the name of Deon. Illya loved his boys, he then had another 2 boys with Rachel, named Elijah & Joshua. Last but not least he then have his last boy with Toya and they named him Jeremiah. Whom he loved dearly.

Illya Shemel Haywood known as “Wood” departed this life and gained his wings on January 29, 2021 at 11:00am at Warrinbar South Loop Hospital.

Illya Shemel Haywood leaves to cherish his memories to his Loving Parents: Barbara & James Haywood his sons: Ahmad, Deon, Elijah, Jay & Jeremiah. His one Brother Quintin Haywood Que, Two special best friends: TeTe & Dee, Two: Aunts, Two Uncles, A host of Family& Friends whom loved him dearly.
