Earnest Lee Tyler, Jr. was born November 2, 1945 in Birdsong, Arkansas to the late Earnest Lee Tyler, Sr. and Ollie Margarite (Newson) Tyler. Earnest was the first of 12 children.  

Earnest is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Gladys, Sharon, and Sheila Tyler; brothers, Raymond and Leonard Tyler; son, Lonnie Clifton; and grandsons, Darion and Jalen Tyler.  

Earnest was baptized at an early age and was a God fearing Christian until he departed this life on Monday, January 18, 2021 at Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge, Illinois.  

Earnest attended Birdsong Elementary School of Birdsong, Arkansas and was a 1965 graduate of Wilson Trade School, Wilson, Arkansas.  

Earnest moved to Chicago, Illinois in 1968 where he worked for Victor Dana most of his life.  He subsequently worked many years for Tootsie Roll where he retired.  Earnest loved family and was especially proud of his six sons. He had a soft spot for children and played father and grandfather to many.  He had a love for the blues and regularly listened to his favorite song, Tennessee Whiskey.       

Earnest is survived by wife, Georgia (Beecham) Tyler; loving sons, Julius Beecham (Tara), Barry Tyler (Pam), Anthony Tyler, Demetrius Lockett (Bridgette), and Christopher Hampton; four siblings, Clarence Tyler (Barbara), Pamela Marshall (Wesley), Josephine-Susie Collins, Yvonne Smith (James), and Gloria Smith; fourteen grandchildren, Joshua Beecham, Noah Beecham, Genesis Beecham, Lonnie Clifton, Jr., Corey Clifton, Jake Clifton, Brandon Tyler, Brianna Tyler, Adunte’ Lockett, Briera Lockett, Tyree Hampton, Da’Realis Hampton, Ja’Nasia, and Rosie Kitchen; four great grandchildren; Special Friends, Martha and Marsha McDaniel, Lionel Booker, Kahari Byas; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and very close friends.
