Charlene was born July 2, 1944 to Lewis Townsend and Katie Mae Jones in Jasper Mississippi she was preceded in death by her Father, Mother, her 5 Brothers and 4 sisters her Grand daughter Della and her Great grand daughter Gianna. At a early age Charlene confessed her love for Christ at a early age and was baptized at Virgin Mary MB church under the leadership of Rev Thomas. In 1962 she moved to Chicago.
In the early 70’s she joined Mt. Vernon Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Z Brooks where she continued to attend faithfully under the leadership of Rev Dr. Johnny L Miller at JLM Abundant Life Community Church until God called her home.
Charlene loved her family especially showing pictures of her grandchildren and laughing and cracking jokes with her extended family and coworkers @ Sam’s Club where she worked working there gave her great joy.
In Passing she leaves to cherish her memory her children Johnny Lee Jones Rochelle Jones (Debra Jones) Jeanette R Byrd and Garnett S Byrd (Katherine Byrd). Her siblings Lillie Crowder of East St Louis MO, Roberta Smiley (Doll) of Chicago and her brother Roosevelt Jones of Haiti MO 28 Grandchildren 14 Great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews friends and family members that will miss her dearly.
