Arell Muskin was born on November 12, 1936 in Pickensville, Alabama to the late Johnnie and LueDella Muskin. Many knew him as Mr. Muskin, but he was affectionally known by his immediate family as Papa.

Arell accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age in Robinsonville, Mississippi. In 1955, he moved to Chicago, IL and worked various types of jobs. Little did he know through his friendship with Margaret Burks he would meet the love of his life Myrtle Small of Winona, MS.  They fell in love, got married and grew old together.  To this union five children were born: LueDell, Laroy, Patricia, Darnell and Kenny; a son Arell Miller with the late Bettye Miller. Although Shaun Muskin and Maurice Muskin are his grandsons, they were both raised as his sons.

On Monday, February 1, 2021, Arell peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to be at rest in the Kingdom of God.  His family was right by his side at his home in Chicago, IL.

Arell is preceded in death by his beloved parents; loving wife Myrtle Small Muskin; one son: Kenny Muskin; one grandson: Maurice Muskin; four brothers: Lovell Davis, Josephus Davis III, Taylor Davis and Alvin Davis; one nephew: James Eric Davis; and beloved Aunt Eva Beals.

Arell leaves to cherish his memories: one brother Hugh (Willie May) Davis; two daughters: LueDell and Patricia; four sons: Arell, Laroy, Darnell and Shaun; three grandchildren: Ariel, Shanika and Mariah; five great-grandchildren: Aiyonna, Shaunia, Ka’Mariah, Landon and Maurice Jr; four nieces: Lisa, Vera, Karen and Linda; nine nephews: Quintin, William, Keon, Gregory, Kevin, Keith, Marcus, Michael and Jerry; and a multitude of great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and great-great nephews; and a host of other relatives, cousins and friends.
